We had a lot of support from our family when we purchased Tiggins Meadow, both in terms of enthusiasm and sharing of knowledge, and also financially as members of the family contributed to the cost of the orchard trees. But our family are spread far and wide, including overseas, so we wanted a method of keeping them up to date with what we were doing at the field. So the Blog was born. Little did we know that we would still be updating it all these years later, or that it would prove to be such a valuable diary showing us how much the field changed over time as nature too charge and spread it’s wings !

The blog worked well for a long time, and still does, but there came a time when we felt it would be useful to have some printed material. This was especially so as the blog held more and more entries and became more cumbersome to find stuff in. So we had the blog printed at a couple of points along the way.

We also maintain a Flickr album of photos taken at the Tiggins Meadow, although we haven’t added much to it recently. We meet more and more people, both local and further afield, who want to hear more about our little project at Tiggins Meadow, so we felt we needed some sort of contact details card, so had some postcards printed to provide this.

Another small piece of work is making notices – as more people became interested in Tiggins Meadow we realised it would be good to actually have a sign on the gate so that it could easily be located! We also put up some notices to explain about how the compost toilet and tippy tap work. The Open Weekend held in 2019 meant we needed to design an invitation poster to be sent to people and put up locally or in the parish newsletter.

A recent challenge was being asked by WildEast to produce a short piece of video talking about the Tiggins Meadow project which was great fun to make.

We aim to produce newsletters a couple of times a year – please see the Membership tab if you want to read them.

We are not skilled photographers, nor do we have specialist equipment, but we do enjoy the opportunities Tiggins Meadow provides for enjoying wandering around with a camera and we hope other people will too.
